Vishnu Som has spent nearly three decades at NDTV, where he’s now Group Executive Editor. He anchors Left, Right and Centre, and has interviewed an extraordinary range of global leaders—from Putin and Shinzo Abe to Bill Gates and John Kerry. A war correspondent who’s reported from Ukraine, Iraq, Kargil, Congo and Afghanistan, he was also the only Indian journalist in Sendai during the Japan tsunami, first into Bhuj after the 2001 quake, and among the earliest to reach Great Nicobar post the Indian Ocean tsunami. He’s been up on Siachen, tracked terror in Kashmir, and made over 50 hard-hitting documentaries. His work has brought home major honours—Ramnath Goenka, the Commonwealth Broadcasting Award and many more—recognising a career shaped by rigour, depth and courage.
