I am A. Chandrashekar, popularly known as Sihi Kahi Chandru. For over four decades, I have had the privilege of working across theatre, television, cinema, radio, and digital media as an actor, director, producer, anchor, and entrepreneur. 

My journey in the entertainment industry began with “Sihi Kahi,” Karnataka’s first television serial. The immense love I received from audiences through this iconic show earned me the name “Sihi Kahi Chandru,” which has remained my identity ever since. 

Over the years, I have acted in more than 450 feature films, 80 television serials, and 100 stage productions. My work has ranged from comedy and family dramas to serious character-driven roles, allowing me to explore a wide spectrum of performances. Some of my notable film appearances include Avale Nanna Hendathi, Avane Nanna Ganda, Hrudaya Geethe, Golmaal Radhakrishna, Sparsha, Tharaka, Bulbul, and many others. 

Theatre has always been my foundation as an actor. I have performed in acclaimed productions such as Macbeth, King Lear, Waiting for Godot, Julius Caesar, Sankramana, Bhogi, and Nimitta. The discipline and depth I learned from theatre continue to guide my work on screen. As a director and producer, I have directed and produced more than 50 television serials, along with documentaries, ad films, corporate films, social-awareness films, and non-fiction programming. Some of my notable directorial projects include Paapa Pandu, Silly Lalli, Parvathi Parameshwara, Panduranga Vittala, Retired Appa, and Mailigallugalu. 

I have also hosted over 25 television shows, including the popular cookery programs Bombaat Bhojana, Bhojana Priya, and Bharjari Bhojana. My passion for food and storytelling has helped me connect with audiences beyond traditional entertainment formats. 

In addition, I have worked extensively in radio and was honoured to receive the National IRF Award for Best Radio Jockey on two occasions.
