Sharath R. Rao is a Carnatic vocalist, teacher and researcher whose life has been shaped by a deep engagement with music. Trained by Shantha S. Rao, Rajkumar Bharathi and the legendary Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, he is currently pursuing his doctoral research under Dr. M. Manjunath at the University of Mysore. A Gold Medalist in Music, Sharath has presented over 700 concerts across India while mentoring students in India, North America and Australia. His musical journey has also led to Indo-Western collaborations with Dr. James Daniel Miller and Dr. Franklin Smith. Whether performing, teaching or speaking, he brings to every engagement an infectious curiosity and a deep respect for the traditions that continue to inspire him.
