Bhaskar completed his engineering from IIT Madras and post-graduation from IIM Ahmedabad. He is a distinguished Alumnus of both these Institutions.  

Bhaskar began his career in 1978 as a Management Trainee at Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company. After a brief five years with Godrej and Boyce, he joined the Tata Watch Project in 1983.  This project later became Titan Watches, Titan Industries and now Titan Company Limited. 

Bhaskar spent a total of 42 years at Titan and was appointed as Managing Director of Titan Company Limited in April 2002.  Under Bhaskar’s leadership, Titan’s portfolio extended its market to Eyewear, Accessories, Fragrances and Sarees.  Bhaskar retired in September 2019 and by then the company had grown to 13 billion USD and the second largest in the Tata Group. 

Bhaskar is now an Independent Director and serves on the Boards of Kansai Nerolac Paints, LUCAS TVS, Orange County Resorts and Hotels, Metro Brands and Marico and is associated with not-for-profit companies, such as IITM Pravartak Technologies, Prayogi Foundation, Shankara Eye Hospital, IIMPACT, Indian Institute of Science Medical Foundation and has also been appointed as Trustee of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust since November 2025.
