Rinki Bhattacharya is synonymous with journalism, writing on subjects that deeply affect the human psyche. Daughter of iconic Bimal Roy, she has created a niche for herself in the hall of fame with singular success as a writer holding a mirror to society through her articles and as a documentary filmmaker dealing with women – centric issues. Beginning her career as a freelancer, she wrote for prestigious newspaper publications while her documentary ‘Char Divari’ went on to win international acclaim. Author of several cookbooks too, her writing reflects boldness of spirit that refuses to be cowed. She is Vice Chairperson of Children’s Film Society of India and the founder Chairperson of ‘Bimal Roy Memorial & Film Society’.
