Prof. G. L. Shekar, former Principal of the National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru, is a distinguished academic and a pioneer in the field of satellite and web-based education in India. Collaborating with ISRO, he was instrumental in advancing educational technologies, culminating in his book on EDUSAT, released by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr. Shekar holds a Ph.D. from IISc Bangalore, an M.Tech. from IIT Kanpur, and a B.E. from the University of Mysore. He has a prolific record of scholarly publications in national and international journals. As the Hon. Secretary of S. L. Bhyrappa Sahitya Prathishtana, he authored “Chitana-Mantana,” a compilation of interviews with the renowned writer Dr. S. L. Bhyrappa, and has translated works of eminent authors, including Dr. Vikram Sampath.
