Shri. Shivananda Kalave began his journalistic journey as a freelancer. His fields of interest include environment, environment-related documentaries, eco-friendly agriculture, etc. he has traveled and worked extensively in preserving water, land, and ecological resources, valley lakes and lake rejuvenation, and lake-based irrigational tradition. He has worked as a resource person with public institutions and mobilized awareness and the workforce toward rural development. He has also established “Kaanmane Jyaana Kendra” in Sirsi to spread awareness and preservation of forest resources.
He has received several awards, including the Eco-journalism award from the state government, the Panose health media award from London, and many more. He has more than 25 published books, and many of his writings are parts of textbooks for high school students
