Shri. Nagesh Hegde, born in Bakkemane, North Karnataka, is an accomplished author with over 50 books on science and the environment. He received his education from IIT, Kharagpur, and JNU, Delhi. After a brief teaching stint at the University of Nainital, he joined Prajavani as a journalist. His books, including “Iruvudonde Bhoomi,” “nammoLagina Brahmanda,” and “Aachina Lokakke Kaalakosha,” have won numerous state-level awards. His travelogue, “Gaganasakhiyara Seraga Hididu,” has seen multiple editions.
Shri. Nagesh Heggade is a recipient of the Rajyotsava Award, the highest honor from the Kannada Sahitya Academy, and a lifetime award from the Science and Technology Academy. He has also been honored with the prestigious TSR Award for journalism. For decades, he has written a science column in Prajavani, many of which are included in high school textbooks. Additionally, he serves as a guest professor at the IIJNM College of Journalism. In his spare time, he dedicates himself to working on his farm.
