Commander Abhilash Tomy, a commissioned officer in the Indian Navy and Maritime Reconnaissance pilot, has achieved remarkable feats in sailing. He completed a solo non-stop circumnavigation of the Earth under sail, known as Sagar Parikrama, covering 40,000 kilometers in 151 days. In the Golden Globe Race 2018, he endured challenging conditions and returned in 2022 to win the bronze medal after 236 days of nonstop racing. His sailing accomplishments have earned him prestigious awards, including the Kirti Chakra and the Tensing Norgay National Adventure Award. Abhilash Tomy is also a published author with books in English and Malayalam.
