Deepa made her debut appearance on stage at the tender age of 5 in Panjara Shaale by Sri. Karanth. Since then, the theatre has been a part of her life for the past 40 years. She has acted in more than 40 plays in more than 200 shows all over the country. In 2010 she debuted on the Television screen. In the last 12 years, she has performed in more than 10 TV serials.

Writing is another passion for Deepa. In the Kannada daily “Vijayavaani” she has been writing a column for the past five years, TV Mane Kate regarding entertainment media Annana Jote Baalya is her Facebook column. Currently, she is working as a member of the Karnataka film censor board.
