Anjula Bedi is an Indian actress, editor, and theatre artist best known for her work in both stage and screen. With a postgraduate degree in English Literature from Delhi University and training from the National School of Drama, she began acting at the age of 13 and developed a deep passion for theatre. She co-founded the Surnai Theatre and Folk Arts Foundation with Ila Arun in 1982, focusing on folk traditions and contemporary plays. Though she appeared in memorable roles such as Sameer’s mother in Dil Chahta Hai and a cameo in Lakshya, Anjula prefers the authenticity and depth of live performance over film. Alongside acting, she has edited over 30 books on art, culture, and corporate histories through her company Eminence Designs Pvt. Ltd. She also co-authored the autobiography Parde Ke Peechhey with Ila Arun. A frequent speaker at literary festivals, Anjula is celebrated for her contributions to heritage preservation and storytelling. Her multifaceted career reflects a lifelong commitment to meaningful, creative expression across mediums.
