U.N.Ravi kumar[1959] , a mechanical engineer from the university of Mysore, specialized in technology and society interface work with special reference to appropriate technology , sustainable development practices and interventions.

 He is actively involved in wetland conservation, Rainwater harvesting, sustainable sanitation, grey water recycling, biodiversity conservation and  environmental education.

 He has taught basic engineering for 26 years ; established and managed

CART, centre for appropriate rural technologies for 16 years till Voluntary retirement as it’s director in 2008, at the National institute of

Engineering , Mysore ,Karnataka, India .
