Shubha Sanjay Urs is an entrepreneur and textile consultant. Her true passion, however, lies in promoting literature and a love for books. In 2010, 2012, and 2015, she founded Mysuru Book Clubs. Under her leadership, the trust organizes storytelling sessions in tenements, orphanages, and senior citizen homes, as well as author meets, book launches, and discussions. A notable achievement is the annual Mysuru Literature Festival, Mysuru Children’s Literature Festival, and Mysuru Sahithya Sambrama, which have been successfully conducted since 2017. Even during the pandemic, Shubha adapted by hosting virtual festivals in 2020 and 2021, featuring renowned authors from around the world.
Beyond literature, Shubha is committed to giving back to the community. She has donated masks, facilitated free vaccinations, and supported education by covering fees, uniforms, and infrastructure costs for schools. Her philanthropic efforts extend to hospitals, where she has set up libraries, donated medical equipment, and provided essential supplies.
Shubha’s multifaceted personality shines through her various roles, including having been Charter Chairperson of Ladies Circle in Coimbatore, and now part of the World Crafts Council, she is a subcommittee member of the International Music & Arts Society, Bangalore, which has a 50-year history of inviting musicians from across the world to perform.
