Bio

Gopalkrishna Gandhi has worn many hats — Secretary to the Vice President, Governor of West Bengal, High Commissioner and Ambassador across the globe. A sharp, independent thinker and gifted writer, his books include The Undying Light, Saranam, Dara Shikoh, and the powerful Abolishing the Death Penalty. He’s also translated Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy into Hindi and writes regularly for Hindustan Times and The Telegraph. Grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and Rajaji, he carries forward a remarkable legacy with grace, depth and quiet conviction. He now teaches History and Politics at Ashoka University.
