Bio

Dr.Jean-Philippe Puyravaud, an ecologist working with the Sigur Nature Trust, is committed towards conservation of biodiversity and endangered species. Having made India his home, he collaborates on research projects in conservation biology, and teaches at Pondicherry University. ‘Giant Hearts: Travels in the World of Elephants’ is an anthology that takes the reader into the world of these gentle giants. A common love, admiration and respect for elephants has brought together a plethora of eminent people from all walks of life to put together a plea for the need for living in harmony with a species that has more than a few lessons to teach the human race. Dr.Puyravaud and Priya Davidar’s efforts has resulted in a book that celebrates the largest land mammal on earth.
