Indrakumar HB hails from Davanagere and is a teacher by profession. He is the author of many short stories, novels, short story collections, books of poetry, and also the author of a cinema story. His stories have been published in almost all Kannada magazines, and they have been awarded prizes and medals in most of the story competitions. His novels have also been honoured with awards like the Basavaraja Kattimani youth award, Visvesvaraya national literature award, and Besagarahalli Award for the short story collection Kanada Kadalu. The Shivamogga Karnataka Sangha has awarded his poetry collection the G.S. Shivarudrappa award.
