Dipti Kotian

Dipti Kotian has worked as a media professional across multiple platforms for over three decades with organisations in India, the Middle East, and Sri Lanka. Having started her career in print journalism with newspapers and magazines, she was a staff writer for the Khaleej Times in the UAE, The Indian Express group, The Asian Age, and the India Today group, moving on to TV News and programming in later years. She trained in television production and made several educational documentaries for Doordarshan’s educational channels. In Sri Lanka, she managed the English news desk at the multilingual newsroom of the MTV/MBC network – the island’s only independent broadcaster – during the final few years of the longstanding civil war. She enjoys reading and indulged her love for books by producing a podcast featuring books and authors for a Colombo-based platform. She recently quit the 24/7 treadmill of daily news and teaches media studies at an international school.
