Sri D.N. Lokappa, a native of Rangapura in Chitradurga district, has been engaged in book printing, publishing, education, literature, and social service for the past 48 years. A graduate with B.Sc. and B.Lib.Sc. degrees, he has been actively involved in literary service under the banner of Samvahna Publications in Mysuru.
He has served as president of several prestigious organizations and continues to be a life member of many of them.
In 2002, he received the Best Publisher Award from the Government of Karnataka and the Kannada Book Authority, Bengaluru. He has also been honored with the District Rajyotsava Award, Kayaka Award, Sahitigala Surataru Award, and several other awards and felicitations from various organizations
