M. Javaraj is a versatile talent engaged not only in short stories, poetry, and novels but also in literary criticism. He hails from Bairapura village in T. Narasipura taluk of Mysuru. Deeply interested in history, Javaraj has obtained a Master’s degree (M.A.) from Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru. He is currently serving as a contract employee at the Karnataka State Beverages Corporation.
Javaraj has captured the attention of both literature enthusiasts and critics through the powerful use of rural Mysuru dialect in his poetry and stories. Backed by extensive reading, he has also been active in the field of literary criticism.
His literary journey began in 2009 with the publication of the short story collection Navuloorammana Kathe. In 2013, he authored the novel Kidi. In 2022, he published the poetry collection Avva Nannhettu Muddaduvage and a compilation of critical essays titled Nelada Chitragalu.
His narrative poem Mettu Helida Katha Prasanga, which was published in 2022 in the online magazine Panju and received wide appreciation from readers, also stands out among his works.
For Mettu Helida Katha Prasanga, he was awarded the Mulluru Nagaraj Poetry Award in 2023. Additionally, he was honored by the T. Narasipura Taluk Administration’s National Festival Celebration Committee in both 2013 and 2024.
His upcoming works include the novel Kattala Hoovu and a lengthy story titled Postman Ganganna, both of which are ready for publication.
