V.V.S. Laxman is a former Indian cricketer and is currently the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Formerly a cricket commentator and mentor to the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad, he received the Arjuna Award in 2002 and the Padma Shri in 2011 and was named one of Wisden’s five Cricketers of the Year in 2002. These days, he lives in Bengaluru with his family. Laxman formed the Golden Generation of Indian batting and influenced more Test wins off his own bat than most others with his mesmerising wristwork and steely determination.
