Kusuma is a farmer’s daughter and hails from Ayarahalli, a village near Mysore. She was a student activist taking an active part in many movements. Her work in the media began at Akashavani. she has written scripts for television serials directed by T.N. Seetharam, Kasaravalli, etc. After working for two years in a news channel, she has been a columnist at Vijaya Karnataka. Quitting Bangalore, she lives in Ayarahalli as an agriculturist who works for the conservation of the local environment and lake along with a team called “Parisara Balaga”. Her stories have been published in many periodicals. “Yoltin Keli’ is her published book. She was awarded the “Ha.Ma. Nayak” award and the “Kittur Rani Chennamma” award by the government of Karnataka
