Dr. Champa H S is an architect and urban designer. She studied at Bangalore University, Delhi Institute, and the University of Mysore.
Dr. Champa worked in Bangalore, Goa, and Kerala before setting up her independent practice based out of Mysore and has completed many architectural projects like Resorts, Residences, hotels, Institutions, etc. Dr. Champa has contributed extensively to academics and administration. She served as the Principal at the School of Design, the University of Mysore before moving on to a teaching assignment at Birla Institute of Technology, UAE. She has served as Director at SVS School of Architecture, Coimbatore. She is currently the Dean of Mysore School of Architecture. She has contributed to urban designing and planning schemes for several concerns of Mysore, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Chennai and Tuticorin.

Her research and publication revolves around vernacular architecture and built heritage. Dr. Champa has presented and published many research papers at international and national conferences and journals. She has edited the books ‘Rural Villages of Tamil Nadu’ and her research book ‘Refurbishing the Identity of a City in Transition – an Urban Design Intervention into Development Paradigms of Mysuru’ is in print and is a noteworthy contribution to the heritage of Mysore. Dr. Champa is a Member of the Expert Committee for Mysore Heritage, Dept. of Archeology Museums and Heritage, Government of Karnataka.
